DESCRIPTION:Our annual “Politics Doesn’t Have to be a Drag!” Brunch is our community level celebration of the art of drag and drag shows where we are allowed to let our hair down\, celebrate our culture\, and raise critically needed funds to fulfill our mission of fighting for local LGBTQ+ Houstonians. This year’s fundraiser will be on Sunday\, February 16 from 12:30-2:30 PM at ReBar (202 Tuam St\, Houston\, TX 77006). \n\n\n\nWhile there are many barriers for the average community member to participate in fundraisers\, the goal of our Drag Brunch is to promote inclusivity and participation from  a broader audience while also putting the “fun” back in fundraiser. Featuring amazing performances from local drag artists\, great food\, company\, and an even better cause\, we’re sure you won’t want to miss out on this event! Tickets sold quickly last year\, so be sure to get yours soon!

DESCRIPTION:We will be hosting a Public Forum for the HISD Trustee\, District 1 position between candidates:  Gretchen Himsl\, Monica Flores Richart\, and Elizabeth Santos. \nThe forum will be held on Friday\, September 22. \nThe format of the forum will be very like our candidate screening process.   \n\nCandidates will present and answer questions individually before the Caucus body and guests.  \nEach candidate will deliver a two-minute opening statement. \nEach candidate will respond to the same five questions and have two minutes to respond to each question. \nEach candidate will have the opportunity to deliver a five-minute closing statement.\n\nCaucus members can submit a question for the Public Forum.  The question must be directed to all three candidates. Questions must be submitted by Monday\, September 18 at 5 p.m.  Questions will then be vetted and selected by the Caucus Board. Questions can be submitted to brandon.mack@thecaucus.org.  During the Public Forum\, questions will be delivered by a moderator. \nFollowing the Public Forum\, we will have an Endorsement Meeting for HISD Trustee District 1 and HISD Trustee District 3.   \nIf you have any questions regarding the Public Forum\, please direct them to brandon.mack@thecaucus.org.
