Endorsements for the 2012 Primary Election

SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING THE 2012 TEXAS PRIMARY ELECTION

At this time, the maps that determine the boundaries for various political subdivisions continue to be held up in litigation. The US Supreme Court has ordered the maps to be reviewed. While the date of the primary has been scheduled for April 17th, it is very likely that date will change. Additionally, the candidate filing period for all offices will reopen at some point. Our endorsement process will not be fully completed until after that has occurred and a final primary date has been set. The Caucus will offer the opportunity for all candidates in contested primary races for both major political parties and ballot-access third parties to screen for our endorsement. We will not be endorsing in uncontested races.

Candidates who have already filed in contested races will be contacted during the latter half of February regarding the screening process and will be provided a questionnaire to complete. Candidates who file when the filing period reopens will be contacted, and will be given the same amount of time to complete questionnaires as those who have already filed, provided the revised election schedule permits such a time frame.

Questions about the endorsement process can be submitted to screenings@thecaucus.org, or you can refer to our Standing Rules of Endorsement.
